Approximate dimensions:  11 x 12 inches.  This platter is named for the famed golden stairs of Chilkoot Pass, near Sitka, Alaska.  Google this to find the history. The piece was made by "combing" hot glass while it was very hot, creating the swirls of shades of green, whites, a tiny bit of black, etc.  The resulting piece was then fused to a white base platter.  This piece has a lot of glass in it, and is heavy--but so interesting.  This could be shown on a stand in your home when not being used to hold food items.
